Warm-up - Prep for Speech Training - Classroom

A complete warm-up takes only 9-minutes, in preparation for speech training, even in a large classroom.  Deep stretching and deep breathing exercises can be accomplished from a standing position--nobody needs to lie on the floor.  Feels good, and it really works.

Voice Building For Teachers - Advanced Tonal Energy - Focus Pockets

For teachers it is important to have a strong, expressive, and articulate voice--and a voice that never tires. Feeling strong tonality is the first step to building such a voice, and doing calls drives tonality into all your vocal dynamics. When doing calls, remember that the lip shape corresponds to the size and shape of the focus pocket on the hard palate.

Teacher Training - Techniques for Classroom

Dialogue between Master Trainer and Local Teacher on classroom techniques, and on how to shoot lab videos for further discussion.

Teacher Training - First Session - 3 Energies

Master Trainer and Local Teacher, in their first training session together, discuss the Three Energies--Tonal, Structural, and Consonant.

Teacher Training - Contractions

For non-native speakers of English, contractions are one of the last things they may master.  But with some regular practice using our videos, they can quickly be mastered.

Teacher-Training - Structural Vowels

At SpeechMasters, our teacher-training technique calls on the teacher or his assistant to shoot raw video footage, and upload it to Youtube. We then download, edit, and annotate clips for training purposes.  We set up a video-conferencing meeting with the teacher, and discuss the video footage together--both to address specific issues, and to refine training methodology.  Teachers should then show the lab video to their class, so that they can learn from it directly.

Structural Vowel #5 Small Group (w. Elvis)

Small group learns their first Structural Vowel, #5 AH, getting used to creating a forward placed sound with a large lip opening.  This shape also aids in producing a good R sound in words like: car, far, large, target, etc.

Teacher Training Intonation

Intonation carries 33% of your message when you speak. The words carry only 7%. Intonation makes everything you say much more understandable, and more interesting.
